It became necessary for me to make planispheres in order to give my project media coverage, because globes are difficult to transport. The first stage of the work consisted in producing the image of a West-orientated world that would look exactly like those that can be bought in the shops. But although my initial preoccupation was with meaning, as well as the desire to make my ideas immediately understandable, drawing maps has made me concentrate on the very essence of this kind of work, that consists in drawing lines, drawing an accumulation of lines that become a map.
